Really good torch, does everything it says on the tin. We also got a higher spec version from olight and we both prefer this one!
Looking to get another one so we don't have to share xD
I really only wanted a UV light (for making glow in the dark items glow) but thought I'd give this a try as it didn't cost much more than a dedicated UV light and could always be used as a normal light as well.
As a UV light, it does exactly what I wanted from it. There doesn't appear to be a filter on the UV so some visible light as well which doesn't bother me at all. There's no variability in the UV. Its either on or off but works well close up and can give you a scare if you shine it around a dark bathroom!
The main light is surprisingly useful. It has a moonlight mode so that you don't wake the house up and is plenty bright enough when you need something more. It would have been nice to have ramping rather than cycling through low/medium/high but its fine as it is. I don't really have a need to use high/turbo but its very impressive in a dark room if you do.
I haven't really found a use for the side light yet but I'm sure I will. It has low/med/high and although I'd rather use my proper work light (Erbauer) if I know I will need it for a while, this is fine for using for a quick look at something.
The RGB side lights seem like more of a toy if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, they are plenty of fun to play around with but as there is no level adjustment, I can't see them being used for anything serious. Maybe leaving it on red and treating it the same way as a white/red headlamp is OK, but I don't see myself needing cyan lighting very often!
The UI is easy to get used to. There are 2 buttons. The first controls the main front light with on/off, hold for low/med/high, hold from off for moonlight etc. The second button controls the UV/RGB/Side with combinations of clicks and holds for all of the functionality. As I primarily wanted a UV light, this suits me well as the single click on/off on the second button controls the UV.
The only real downside is that I know that one day, the internal battery will die and I won't be able to replace it. If they made these with a couple of 14500 or 18650s to power it, then it would probably be the light I'd keep on me all the time and I'd definitely buy a few more of them!
